1) Please see below a letter sent to all the Canadian Senators. I hope you will consider sharing this widely. We need to support Shelley’s efforts to educate our politicians about the dangers that students face in schools from all of the wireless to which they are exposed.

“Dear Senator…
A growing number of students are now experiencing symptoms of “microwave sickness” in Canadian schools.
Please see (at the link below) a 2-page letter, with the opportunity to review, sign and share The International Declaration on the Human Rights of Children in the Digital Age.
This Declaration addresses the concerns of Canadian Educators for Safe Technology: there are no laws to protect children who are vulnerable, or staff who have medical susceptibilities, all of whom can be adversely impacted by radio frequency (RF) (microwave), non-ionizing radiation exposures (NIR).
On the second page, you will also see a video testimony of a student adversely impacted by RF exposures at school.
Thank you kindly for your time and attention.”

2) Why hasn’t Health Canada done what the 2015 HESA Committee advised — DEVELOP AN AWARENESS CAMPAIGN, allowing people to learn about the risks of wireless devices so that they could take precautionary steps when using them?
Getting Smart about smartphone’s risk at school
“In the Jan. 10 Low Down, Grade 10 student Autumn Valiquet [made] the case for allowing adolescents to learn how to responsibly and safely use a smartphone without a ban at school (“Getting smart without a smartphone ban at schools”).
Valiquet finds that the “talk about bans is shining a negative light on phones,” which “are not necessarily good or bad.” Would Valiquet have made this claim about not good nor bad if our government, Health Canada and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) would have informed her about the risks of using mobile phones?”

3) In last night’s update, I shared an article that stated that 80% of US schools banned cellphones for non-academic use. I must admit I am still bewildered by this but this must be the source for that statement. This statistic is combined with statistics on violence and cyberbullying in schools….
I wonder how the “academic use” is controlled and what happens with smartphones when not “needed”. Reports have shown that students are distracted even when the phones are off but in the vicinity. And why are phones needed for academic purposes when wired laptops or wired tablets are available.
“In 2021-22, higher percentages of elementary schools (87 percent), middle schools (77 percent), and schools with other grades combined (70 percent) reported having policies that prohibited the nonacademic use of cellphones in school, compared to high/secondary schools (43 percent).“
