2021-08-25 Fed. Govt. $1.44 billion for satellites

1) Re. the STOA report in last night’s update, here is a video of a zoom meeting about the studies the panel reviewed that was in the June 3 update. Perhaps now that the verdict is in, this will be more interesting to watch.

On May 31, there was a Zoom panel meeting in Europe that, unfortunately, occurred in the early morning hours here in BC (10am in Europe). Fortunately, a video has been made available. It is 1:45 hours. There are 3 presentations after an excellent introduction by the President of the academy. The first is at 10:25 by Dr. Belpoggi of Ramazzini Institute (and report).

2) The Canadian government is funding more low orbit satellites, “initially” 298.

3) Yesterday, a cell phone overheated and burned at the Seattle airport. Thank goodness the plane had landed. Lithium batteries have caused many cell phones to catch fires yet people sleep with them and give them to their children. Cell phones can cause thermal damage…. (joke).

Burning cell phone forces plane evacuation

“SEATAC, Wash. —A fire started on board an Alaska Airlines jet at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

One of the passengers recounted the dramatic story of the plane evacuation.

“It happened faster than I could explain it to you. It was just really quick,” said passenger Kathy Mandeville.”

4) Wireless industry is co-opting the honey bee with their marketing attempts to make people believe wireless and ZigBee chips are so good for the environment, and the honey bee itself, when quite the opposite is true.
