Protect First Responders from 5G Contact Your Fire/Police Department!
Dear Friend,
A Verizon 5G ad during the Super Bowl promoted the idea that 5G wireless technology will dramatically help first responders do their jobs and save lives. But wait a minute…
First responders paid a price after 9/11 when the government assured workers at Ground Zero that the air was safe to breathe. We now know that was untrue.
Nearly 20 years later, the telecommunications industry, backed by “captured” federal agencies like the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is assuring everyone that exposure to wireless radiation does not pose significant health hazards to the public…but the independent scientific communitysays something different: Cancer, neurological problems, reproductive health problems, and other adverse biological effects.
Since 2004 the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) has formally opposed the placement of cell towers and/or antennas on or near fire stations due to health risks, and, in 2015, California firefighters became legally exempt from the placement of wireless telecommunications equipment on their facilities.
This Tuesday, please call or send a letter to your local fire/police department chiefand make sure that he/she has been notified about wireless radiation hazards and the IAFF’s stance on this issue.
Sample Letter/Caller Script:
Dear Chief _________,I understand that the telecommunications industry is promoting the idea that 5G wireless technologies will dramatically improve first responder services.
Before purchasing 5G-enabled equipment for your team, it is imperative that your department be made aware of the robust body of science linking exposure to radio-frequency (RF) microwave radiation (wireless radiation), the type of radiation emitted by wireless technologies, with serious adverse biological impacts in humans. Scientifically documented health detriments include neurological problems, cognitive impairments, and reproductive health problems. Recently, the U.S. National Toxicology Program found “clear evidence“of cancer associated with chronic exposure to wireless radiation.
Since 2004 the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) has formally opposed the placement of cell towers and/or antennas on or near fire stations due to wireless radiation health risks, and in 2015, California firefighters became legally exempt from the placement of wireless telecommunications equipment on their facilities.
If you would like to learn more about this important occupational health issue, I am happy to provide you and your staff with additional information.
Thank you for your consideration and for your service.
Sincerely, __________
Our brave first responders need special protection. Thank you for taking action today!
