“SMART METERS = DEMOCRACY DENIED”
There are many Rallies scheduled for Saturday JUNE 14.
Smart Meters are connected to the computers at BC Hydro and Fortis BC through Smart Grids or Mesh Networks.
The Smart Grids are composed of many Smart Meters that communicate with each other and a controller. Each Smart Meter can communicate with its neighbours. This allows a message or packet of information to be sent from the controller to any smart meter in its domain and that meter to send the answer (kWh readings or simply “I am ok”) back to the controller.
There are may types of power meters being used in the world and quite a few in BC
Every family should have the right to protect themselves in their own home, but BC Hydro and the BC Liberal Government have passed an Act removing our democratic and human rights to choose the risks we will sustain within our own homes.
As you may have guessed, our website has been hacked and this took it off the air for almost 14 days.
The hack was a difficult one to fix, so difficult that our technical experts were unable to fix the site. So we had to create a brand new site.
This will give us a chance to do some house cleaning and toss some of the old dated POSTS and PAGES away and to do a bit of reorganizing.
Our goal is to make the site a major force in our ongoing fight against the installation of SMART METERs in BC by BC Hydro, Fortis BC and the BC government.
