2024-01-26 Warning: Massive leak of data

1) So much of our data is communicated wirelessly, and this will increase with IoT becoming more pervasive. Everything from our smeters to our e-banking is out there in the ether, vulnerable to hackers.

Experts urge vigilance in wake of ‘supermassive leak’ of digital data

“Canadian cybersecurity researchers are voicing concern and urging people to be vigilant after reports that a staggering 26 billion records have been exposed in a “supermassive leak.”

According to the organizations CyberNews and Security Discovery, data from popular platforms including LinkedIn, X (formerly known as Twitter), Dropbox and Adobe has been exposed in what the research team refers to as the “mother of all breaches.”...

Her advice now is to be on the lookout for phishing scams.

“Users needs to be vigilant about scam calls, unusual emails and messages, unusual social requests,” said Stakhanova.”

2) Below in Letters is a reminder that politicians often listen to us (or at least acknowledge our existence) when it is election time. They have long refused to consider establishing a limit to RFR exposure, even though there is no federal regulation against doing so — in fact, as Norm says below, Safety Code states that provinces can set their own limits so long as they do not exceed Safety Code 6 levels. It’s time that we raised our voices (hopefully many of them) and demand action to protect our children ,at the very least.

If you write and wishh to include statements from, or reports by, experts, there are many on our website https://citizensforsafertech.ca/ https://ehtrust.org/ ,  or Physicians for Safe Technology https://mdsafetech.org/links/ , for example. If you do write your MP, MLA, Senator, School Trustee, etc. and would like to share your letter, please send to:

citizensforsafertech@shaw.ca  with “Policy on EMR on the subject line.

3) Dr. Moskowitz has provided a summary of Dr. Henry Lai’s amazing, ground-breaking research over the last 34 years. How can any agency ignore such overwhelming evidence of harm from RFR and EMF, as well as ELF? Another great resource to quote in letters ot politicians, school officials, etc.

Effects of Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields: Thirty years of research

“The preponderance of peer-reviewed research published from 1990 through January 2024 has found significant adverse effects from exposure to radio frequency radiation and extremely low frequency and static electromagnetic fields.

Dr. Henry Lai, Professor Emeritus at the University of WashingtonEditor Emeritus of the journal, Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine, and an emeritus member of the International Commission on the Biological Effects of EMF, has compiled summaries of the research on the biological effects of exposure to radio frequency (RFR) and extremely low frequency (ELF) and static electromagnetic fields (EMF). His set of abstracts which covers the period from 1990 to January 2024 constitutes a comprehensive collection of the peer-reviewed research.

Dr. Lai reports that the preponderance of research has found that exposure to RFR or ELF EMF produces oxidative effects or free radicals, and damages DNA. Moreover the preponderance of studies that examined genetic, neurological and reproductive outcomes has found significant effects: 79% of more than 1,500 studies of RFR, and 87% of more than 900 studies of ELF and static fields reported significant effects.”

I just sent an email to all 4 major BC parties re EMR Standards in BC. The emails I used were sonia.furstenau.MLA@leg.bc.ca  (The Green Party requires one to use a from-based email to contact them  which I refuse to use.), contact@bcndp.ca , contact@votebcunited.ca , info@conservativebc.ca . Forgot to include in a sort of similar way the provincial government has set in place restrictions on smoking, etc. – Why don’t they do the same re EMR – it is within their authority?

Doubt they will bother responding to one email but if everyone started sending emails in their own words, once a month for example (also when candidates for one’s areas are announced, include all of them on the monthly email).  With luck, a comprehensive campaign provincial with numerous emails in one’s own words may finally wake them  to the issue – Also, it is not too early to start a parallel campaign federally – that election, while scheduled for a bit under 2 years away, will very likely happen this spring.

Appreciating a provincial election is in less than a year.

What is your party’s position on electromagnetic radiation?  Are you aware that Safety Code 6 is not a standard? It is a guideline based on thermal characteristic of radiation in the short term and does no consider health effects in the long term and increasingly significant concerns with the rapidly increasing levels of electromagnetic radiation/radio frequency and provinces can develop their own Radiation Safety Code (is known to be inadequate to protect citizens, all flora and fauna – being a thermal-based limit). A thermal base that is based on one 1953 study when thermometers were placed in 6 rats’ rectums and it was noted they acted strangely.

This issue is particularly a concern for people like me that are electromagnetic hypersensitive and often get headaches when exposed to radiation in the order of 0.001 of the Safety Code 6 levels.  The current levels in many public places, buses, hospitals and schools as well as coffee shops, etc. often exceed these levels significantly.  The levels are often several times the level needed to make and maintain a connection for Wi-Fi, cell phone use, etc.  Safety Code 6 does make it clear that while it is a guideline, provinces are free to develop their own standards.  The UN Declaration of Human Rights recognises the need for electromagnetic hypersensitive people to be accommodated.

What will your party do to reduce the rapidly increasing onslaught of Electromagnetic Radiation and what will you do to accommodate those that are electromagnetic hypersensitive?
