The Urgent Need For Regulatory Safeguards in Wireless Radiation Policy in the USA and Internationally for Cell Phones, Wireless Devices and Cell Towers

2) The FCC in the USA is proposing allowing low power unlicensed devices to be used to enable the expansion of IoT despite industry concerns about potential interference that could be dangerous. This would increase RF in our environment through more wireless devices connecting to the internet. Concerns about interference may be vital to industry but what about interference with the functions of all living things?

Band (Wi-Fi 6); Seeks Input on Ways to Expand Use “while protecting incumbents from harmful interference”

“In December 2021, utilities and other groups petitioned the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to delay opening 6 GHz to unlicensed users because “a new generation of unlicensed 6G routers and other wireless devices” could cause dangerous inference issues….

FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel proposed new rules this week to allow very low power devices to operate in the 6 GHz band alongside other WiFi-enabled devices. If adopted at the Commission’s October 19 meeting, the rules will enable cutting-edge applications…

The agency says that decision has helped usher in WiFi 6 and played a major role in the growth of the IoT.”

3) More about the expansion of the wireless industry and the reduction of rights of local governments and citizens. It’s happening in the US and, no doubt, Canadian telecoms will follow this lead.

Urgent: U.S. bills will fast-track cell tower antennas and strip environmental review

“The biggest rewrite of federal law governing wireless facilities in almost 30 years.

Congress is considering nearly 50 bills in both chambers that, collectively, would promote significant proliferation of wireless antennas, radiation, and infrastructure across the country and in space.”
